Sportsmanship

Updated Friday September 11, 2015 by Brittany Vogel.

Youth sports programs play an important role in promoting the physical, social, and emotional development of children.

It is therefore essential for parents, coaches,  spectators, and officials to encourage children to embrace the values of good sportsmanship.

Furthermore, parents, coaches, spectators, and officials involved in youth sports events should be models of good sportsmanship and should lead by example by  demonstrating fairness, respect, and self-control .

In order to advance the principles of sportsmanship and fair play and to promote mutual respect among players, coaches, referees and spectators, the JBL has established a "Code of Conduct".

The JBL Code of Conduct applies to all players, coaches, parents, officials and spectators. It shall be the obligation of all program participants, spectators and parents to comply with the terms and provisions of the Code of Conduct.
