Trophy Pickup for last season's trophies
Sunday 11-22 or Friday 11-27UpdatedFriday November 20, 2020 byJBL Mailing.
Hope you, your family and everyone in your personal universe is healthy and doing well.
The past 9 months have been crazy and unprecedented. The pandemic hit just as we were nearing completion of our 2019-20 season. We never got the opportunity to have our traditional Trophy Day and close the season the way we normally do. Then again, what exactly is “normal” nowadays?
In a normal year, this Sunday, Nov 22nd, would have been JBL Opening Day, my 17th. For obvious reasons, we are prohibited from starting the season. (Indoor gatherings, players in close proximity, various restrictions, private schools forbidden to allow outside orgs in their facilities etc., common sense, and the list goes on).
In a strange twist of irony, Sunday- our normal Opening Day- is a good day to hand out last season’s trophies to the kids.
On Sunday, November 22nd and Friday November 27, you will have the opportunity to pick up your child's trophy from last season. We will have a safe and socially -distanced pickup procedure
******Please check your emails for exact location and the pickup schedule for Sunday***
If you have children in multiple divisions, please contact me as to which timeslot you will be arriving and we will have all your children’s’ trophies together.
**PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOU WILL BE AT SUNDAY’S PICKUP DATE OR NEXT FRIDAY’S DATE SO WE CAN PLAN APPROPRIATELY AND PACK THE TROPHIES APPROPRIATELY***
If you do NOT wish your child to receive his/her trophy, please let me know as well. (It’s less shlepping and allows us to plan accordingly).
Finally- JBL this season: Frankly, I don’t know. No one knows at this point. It’s all very fluid. Yes, there’s a vaccine around the corner, but we are subject to state and local restrictions until further notice, not to mention common sense. The odds of a JBL season in the fall and winter are very low. Perhaps we have an abbreviated season or a series of outdoor clinics in the spring. (
Stay tuned for further updates.
In the meantime, stay safe, stay sane and have a Happy Thanksgiving
Hope to see you on Sunday or next Friday for trophy pickup
